OpenRDA History

In 1971, RDA Systems was a consulting company helping local schools and governments manage the variety of information they were accountable for. In those days the only system schools and local governments could afford was pencil and paper.

In the early '80s when PCs came onto the scene RDA saw an opportunity to improve fund accounting productivity with software. The next big step was in 2000 when RDA developed a new, more powerful generation of fund accounting software (OpenXpert) and deployed it  under the open source business model.

In 2010, the software became even more powerful by extending the use of the web with Open Self Serve modules.  Open Self Serve allows:

  • Employees to check on and update critical personal information
  • Potential employees to apply online
  • Vendors to check the status of their account

The result? A tremendous reduction in the amont of time your staff spends on data entry and answering repetitive questions.

Let us help you get the most from your IT investment.  Things have changed a lot in 39 years, but today OpenRDA’s focus remains the same – to provide the best financial management solution for governments and schools plus world class technical support, while producing IT budget surpluses.
